Description

Every deer in a nursery print is mid-graze or mid-nap. This one's got a butterfly on its nose and no idea what to do about it, which is somehow the most relatable expression a cartoon animal has ever had.

This fawn wall art print sketches a spotted baby deer in soft graphite linework, then washes it in watercolor: dusty rose cheeks, warm caramel patches, and two butterflies in powder blue and blush pink orbiting its head. Ferns and wildflowers in sage and lavender frame the scene, all inside a delicate hand-drawn pink border with tiny dots and leaf flourishes in the corners. It reads like a page pulled from a woodland storybook, not a stock nursery print.

The palette is soft enough for a newborn's room but detailed enough that it won't feel babyish by toddlerhood. Hang it in a nursery, a kids' bedroom, or even a playroom that needs a calmer corner, and it holds its own without shouting for attention. The cottagecore feel and forest animal charm work whether your theme is deer, woodland creatures, or just "soft things that make me feel calm at 2am."

It's the kind of print that makes a genuinely thoughtful baby shower gift, something a new parent will actually want on the wall, not just tuck in a drawer.

Three ways to put it on the wall

The art is the same in every option. What changes is the frame around it, and whether glass sits in front.

Framed print: solid oak, glass or plexiglass

The easiest route: it arrives in solid oak, with a clear cover over the art.

  • Solid oak frame
  • Frame colors: natural oak, white, black or walnut
  • Cover: real glass or shatter-resistant plexiglass
  • Five sizes, from 8 x 12 to 24 x 36 in

Framed canvas: depth from a floating frame

Visible texture and a little depth, with a small gap around the edges and no glass in front.

  • Floating frame for a clean, gallery-style finish
  • Frame colors: natural wood, black or walnut
  • Open front, no glass
  • Five sizes, from 8 x 12 to 24 x 36 in

Unframed print: paper only

Questions parents ask me

How do I choose the right size?

Start with what the art will hang over.

8 x 12 in: a shelf, a nightstand or a small wall. Also good in a group.
12 x 18 in: a mid-size piece that works alone or in a row of two or three.
16 x 24 in: a good fit above a crib or a dresser.
20 x 30 and 24 x 36 in: one big piece for a feature wall or a wide stretch above furniture.

Still unsure? Cut paper to the size, tape it to the wall and leave it up for a day.

Do the prints come framed?

That depends on the finish you pick. A framed print comes in a solid oak frame with a plexiglass or real-glass cover. A framed canvas sits in a floating frame with an open front and no glass. An unframed print is the paper alone.

If you already have a frame you love, the unframed print is the way.

How do I arrange a gallery wall?

Every print in your gallery is the same size, so the layout is the easy part. For two or three prints, hang them in a row with 2-3 inches between frames. For four or six, use two rows.

In a nursery, center the whole group at about 48 inches from the floor. That's where your eyes land from the glider, and you're the one looking. In a big kid's room, bring the center down toward 40 inches, their standing eye level. If a crib or dresser sits underneath and the bottom frame would land too close to it, raise the group just enough to keep a clear gap.

Will this still look good when my child is older?

That's the whole idea. Every print in this store was chosen to grow with your child. No cartoon characters that expire at age three. No trends that date by next season. This is art that works in the nursery, survives the toddler years, and still looks right when your kid starts having opinions about their own room.

What if the colors look different in person?

Every screen shows color a little differently, so a print can look a touch warmer or cooler than it did on your phone. If you're particular about an exact shade (and I respect that), ask for a free color match before you order. I'll send a proof for your approval before anything is printed. No surprises.

How long does shipping take?

Every piece is made to order and ships in 2-7 business days. Custom orders add 1-2 business days for the proof step. Once it ships, delivery takes 2-4 business days, and a tracking email arrives as soon as it leaves. U.S. orders over $100 ship free; under $100, it's a flat $6.95.

What is your return policy?

You have 30 days from delivery to start a return, and that includes custom orders. If something arrives damaged, defective or wrong, we send a replacement at no cost; just include a photo when you contact us. If you changed your mind or picked the wrong size or design, you cover the return shipping. Full details are on our Shipping and Returns page.
